Basic Driving
Our beginner course — cars, pick-ups and vans up to 3,500 kg.
About this course
The complete beginner-to-licence course. You start in the classroom with the Highway Code and road signs, move to our training yard for clutch, gear and parking control, then progress to real driving on Mwanza roads including the Kenyatta Road corridor and Nyamagana town traffic. Manual and automatic transmission are both covered.
What you will cover
- Dual-control training cars — the instructor can always intervene
- Both manual and automatic transmission
- Reverse parking, parallel parking and hill starts
- Mock TRA test before the real one
- Free retake of any lesson you want to repeat
Entry requirements
- At least 18 years old
- National ID, voter ID, passport or birth certificate
- Four passport-size photographs
- Medical fitness for driving (eyesight check done at the school)
A note on government fees
The training fee covers your lessons, learning materials and use of our vehicles. TRA charges its own fees for the theory test, practical test and licence issuance. Our registrar will give you the current TRA amounts when you register.
