Frequently asked questions
Documents, fees, timelines and what happens on test day. If your question is not answered here, our office will answer it within one working day.
What documents do I need to register?
Bring your National ID (NIDA), voter ID, passport or birth certificate, plus four passport-size photographs. If you are upgrading to PSV or HGV, bring your existing licence as well. Our registrar will tell you if anything else is needed for your course.
How long does it take to get a licence?
Most Basic Driving students finish training in six weeks. PSV takes four weeks and HGV five weeks. After training there is the TRA theory and practical test — we book it for you, and the licence is usually issued within a few weeks of passing.
Is the TRA test fee included in the course fee?
No. The course fee covers your training, learning materials and the use of our vehicles. Government fees for the TRA theory test, practical test and licence issuance are paid separately to TRA. We will tell you the current amounts when you register so there are no surprises.
Can I pay the fee in instalments?
Yes. You can pay half when you register and the balance before your final week of training. Talk to our office and we will agree a plan that works for you.
Do you teach in Kiswahili or English?
Both. Highway Code classes are taught in Kiswahili by default, and our instructors switch to English whenever a student prefers it. Learning materials are available in both languages.
Do I need my own car?
No. All lessons use our dual-control training vehicles, which are insured for learner drivers.
What if I fail the TRA test?
It happens, and it is not the end of anything. We will review what went wrong, give you extra practice sessions on those areas at no additional training cost, and rebook the test for you. You only pay the government retest fee.
Can lessons fit around my job?
Yes. We run morning, afternoon and evening sessions, plus Saturday classes. Tell us your availability when you apply and we will place you in a group that matches it.
